Antfarm DAO

Protocol Engineer

Design onchain protocols, registries, and credential systems with sound governance and lifecycle handling.

Open
Stack: Protocol & Cryptography
Department: Engineering
Workplace: Remote
Team: Protocol & Cryptography

About the role

Protocol work here is about the rules that outlive any single app: registries, attestations, and credential lifecycles that have to stay coherent long after they're issued. You'd design and implement on-chain protocols in Solidity, covering issuer registration and revocation, schema versioning, and upgrade paths, while reasoning about governance and access control at every step. A theme that comes up again and again is separating "this was validly issued at the time" from "this issuer is trusted right now," because collapsing the two is how credential systems quietly rot. We want someone who designs for the long life of the data they create, with the EAS, ERC-standard, and decentralized-identity background to do it well.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement onchain protocols, registries, and attestation systems
  • Model issuer registration, revocation, and credential lifecycles
  • Handle schema evolution and versioning for long-lived onchain data
  • Reason about governance, access control, and upgrade strategies
  • Collaborate with contract and application engineers on integration
  • Document protocol invariants, trust assumptions, and migration paths

Required skills

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including onchain protocol or contract work
  • Strong Solidity and EVM knowledge with a security-first mindset
  • Experience with registries, credentials, or standards-based systems
  • Ability to reason about governance, lifecycle, and versioning trade-offs
  • Clear technical documentation and design skills

Preferred skills

  • Experience with EAS, ERC standards, or decentralized identity
  • Familiarity with DAO governance mechanisms
  • Audit or protocol design experience

About Antfarm

Antfarm builds verifiable Web3 infrastructure for digital assets and the developers who work on them. Antfarm Finance automates portfolio and liquidity management on-chain, and this site is the public governance and transparency layer around the wider ecosystem.

The stack leans on Next.js, React, and TypeScript up front, Node.js services with MongoDB and PostgreSQL behind them, Solidity with Foundry and Hardhat on-chain, and Rust for the indexers that keep everything fed.

We are small, remote, and early. Decisions get written down, engineers and designers own features end to end instead of passing them over a wall, and we hire on what you can actually build rather than where you have worked.
